"Dental Tourism" is a concept also known as "borderless dental practice" wherein patients cross "borders" by seeking dental services/treatment from dentists located abroad and at the same time visit and enjoy tourist destinations in that particular country (Read more). The ADA has released an article which contains an overview of the concept and some guidelines for American patients seeking treatment outside their country. This article may be very useful for Filipino Dentists who are currently involved in Dental Tourism since there are no official guidelines that have been released so far. |

Here are some things you should know before you go. |  |  | Overview A checkup is especially important if you'll be traveling in developing countries or in remote areas without access to good dental care. Left to chance, emergency dental care may be uncomfortable, dangerous and expensive. And dental care providers in developing regions may not have the resources, equipment or supplies to take all of the recommended precautions for preventing disease transmission.
